Core Group One, Inc. was founded in July 2005 by Emi Anamizu and Jim Horiuchi to purchase Ogilvy & Mather Hawaii, Inc. and is based in Honolulu, Hawaii. WPP Group, Ogilvy & Mather's parent firm situated in London, wanted to sell up its advertising business in Hawaii and gave Emi and Jim the chance to buy the business. Prior to the change, Jim served as Creative Director and Emi as CEO of Ogilvy & Mather. On September 1, 2005, Core Group One launched for business. Hendrix Miyasaki Shin joined Core Group One in January 2013, combining best practices in marketing, creative services, account management, new/social media, and branding strategy.
