AI personalization for DTC fashion brand

A U.S.-based apparel brand ($28M annual revenue, 90 employees) had strong acquisition momentum through TikTok and Meta campaigns, but profitability was under pressure. Repeat purchases stagnated, SMS campaigns felt “spammy,” and the Shopify storefront offered the same generic experience to every visitor. Without visibility into churn or margin drivers, leadership feared a cycle of rising ad spend with diminishing returns.

In partnership with their agency, GetDevDone designed a retention-first roadmap focused on personalization, data integration, and AI-readiness.

• On-site engagement improved: personalized bundles and recommendations increased average time on site by ~20% and boosted average order value by ~8%. The merchandising team can now compare bundle performance against generic “bestsellers.”

Building a Complex Online Platform for Aus Flying

The owner of Aus Flying, Mike Nash, turned to us for assistance with the development of an online platform where pilots could hire aircraft by location or manufacturer, and plane owners list their aircraft for hire or sale. 

The client wanted us to use WordPress as the content management system. Initially, he provided us with the designs of the essential pages so that we could make and launch an MVP as quickly as possible. 

While the website’s aesthetics were important, too, it was the functionality that defined the success of the entire project. Specifically, Mike requested the following features and capabilities: 

• Listing planes for hire or sale. 
• Editing or updating details of planes listed for hire or sale. 
• Saving incomplete listings so that users can finish them at a later time. 
• Uploading images for a plane gallery with a drag-and-drop functionality to arrange images in a specific order, as well as selecting the main image of a plane and adding 360° images to see the plane’s panoramic view. 
• Browsing aircraft listings with the ability to delete them quickly or change their status to draft. 
• Sending messages to aircraft owners. 
• Viewing incoming messages in the admin panel (for aircraft owners). 
• Login and registration. 
• Profile editing. 
• Comprehensive filtering, with every taxonomy having its own filter page.  
• Listing locations and makes with a link to the corresponding filter pages.  
• A map showing aircraft in various regions and airports with pin auto grouping on zooming out.

Creating all that varied and complex functionality was clearly not a matter of days or even months. So, the client picked the features he wanted us to develop in the first place. 

Custom AI LLM for an Affiliate Marketing Company

Project highlights

Our Approach

1. LLM Hosting & Fine-Tuning on AWS

We deployed and fine-tuned Meta’s Llama 3.1 8B model using AWS SageMaker to allow AP to host their own large language model. Each client instance has its own tailored model for personalized context windows and interaction clarity.

The fine-tuning process was automated via:

• SQS-triggered Lambda functions to pull datasets from S3 and initiate SageMaker training.
• CloudWatch monitoring to detect job completion and trigger model deployment to AWS Bedrock.

2. RAG Integration & Prompt Engineering

To deliver precise and context-rich outputs, we implemented Retrieval-Augmented Generation. This allowed the model to pull data from external sources and adapt responses accordingly—ideal for contract analysis, financial summaries, and content automation.

3. OpenWebUI for Mini GPTs and Workflow Automation

We installed OpenWebUI, making it easy for non-technical users to engage with the AI.

Redeveloping the website on WordPress

Client

The Playground reached out to us for assistance with the redevelopment of the website of their client a London-based lettings agency Winchester White. 

Challenge

The legacy sites native CMS made content updates slow and developer-dependent. The new build needed responsive pages, seamless property listings ingestion, and reliable analytics/SEO tooling. 

Solution

GetDevDone rebuilt the website on WordPress, shipping the front end in milestone batches (homepage, key service pages, careers, guides, journal, FAQs) with clean HTML/CSS and dynamic JS (AJAX filters/sort, maps, sliders). On the back end we implemented custom post types (News, FAQs, Staff), curated and tuned essential plugins (ACF, Yoast, Redirection, GDPR Cookie Consent, WP REST Cache, etc.), and replaced a custom BLM import with Property Hive + BLM Import add-on, saving ~3 weeks of custom development while preserving the clients listing flow. We migrated and optimized the stack on Nimbus hosting.

Challenge

GDC Media & Design has an in-house team of highly professional web developers and designers with years of experience under their belts. However, the agency sometimes finds itself overloaded with orders and short on development resources. That’s when they hire us to handle certain projects and tasks for them. This time around, the agency’s management was planning on relaunching its corporate website.
Our task was to create markup and animations/interactive effects for them.  
Additionally, the client requested a hamburger navigation menu for a better user experience on mobile devices. 
Finally, they wanted us to use the default page editor Gutenberg on the back-end.
