1. Tell us in brief about your company. How has Powercode begun this journey?

 

Almost 5 years ago, I decided it was time to start something significant, something that can change lives for to better and help people achieve what they want and need. Today, I see we managed to do it. I see how once a small idea with big goals works worldwide today helping, people achieve more by doing what they love. That’s our mission.

 

2. How do you provide direction in Powercode? What is your role in managerial activities?

 

As a CEO and founder, I make major corporate decisions and manage company resources and overall operations. But I am not too fond of micro-management and never do it. Instead, I prefer to fill my team with specialists I trust. I guess really one of the points that impact success directly.

 

3. What method do you follow for handling custom software and mobile app development to reach a committed timeline for your clients?

 

The significant points are:

 

  • Risk management: risk matrix to prepared to be ready for expected risks/delays and be able to resolve them
  • Planning intermediate releases and iterative development: almost every project is divided into milestones/sprints with the demo planned to some date. It's much easier to control project execution and overall progress by setting up intermediate targets and achieving them step by step
  • Team management and advanced task planning + ability to increase the team in short terms in case of necessity
  • Task management tools: every feature to be decomposed to smaller tasks, having a start time and deadline or/and estimated time, giving a better overview regarding progress and bottlenecks, if any
  • Scope management: managing change requests and prioritizing project backlog
  • Daily stand-up meetings, reporting: give regular quick feedback regarding current progress and difficulties, if any.

 

4. Give us a brief about your enormous achievement in the Industry.

 

To not make the interview too long, I won’t talk about all 5 years of our work. Instead, I will tell you about the latest achievement. Powercode became an official technical partner to the LevelUp Ukraine 2020 business forum this year. Many speakers at this forum are government representatives, successful entrepreneurs, and other influential people, including the President of the Europe Taxpayers Association, the Minister of Ukraine Economy, and so on.

 

Powercode developed a website, mobile application, and Telegram bot to make the LevelUp Ukraine 2020 a modern digital forum that provides maximum comfort to its attendees and speakers.

 

On the 21st of February, we presented our new product - an AI child development mobile application. You can read about it on our website, and we’ll discuss it in detail on our blog soon.

 

5. What are the key factors to be considered before selecting the right web and mobile applications development platform?

 

Some of the factors that influence the choice between platforms are:

 

  • Technology stack
  • The lists of countries where the service is going to operate as it is necessary to choose an appropriate server type in the location
  • Architecture
  • Scalability
  • Security, trouble-free operation, deployment, and revert simplicity (zero downtime would be great, for instance, as in Google AppEngine when choosing a Flexible environment
  • Extra services that will be needed for a project
  • Cost
  • Comprehensible documentation

 

6. How many optimum factors do you consider for attaining client satisfaction?

 

Quality is number one.


Accessibility of a team – even when clients choose an offshore development company, they still want easy and fast communication.


Ability to meet requirements – that’s not about following directly what clients say; it’s about the capability to listen carefully, analyze clients’ needs and goals, offer the best of all possible solutions, and implement them just the way clients need.

Emotional aspect – any collaboration should be a positive experience. Even if your team delivers high-quality products, rude behavior and continuous misunderstanding can damage any business relationship.

I guess these 4 factors are the most important.

 

7. Regarding corporate strategy, what are the main drivers that make your company stand out from the crowd?

 

It’s the team. Our specialists are reliable and skillful experts with a creative mind and a desire to be helpful. I am happy we managed to build a solid team. Moreover, we never conduct experiments on our clients. Instead, we do it within our internal projects if we want to test a new technology or something. As a result, clients always get tried and existing solutions.

 

8. What talent expertise do you employ in new-age technologies like IoT, Blockchain, & Big Data?

 

We employ only the best talents regardless of which category or working area. Therefore, I can say we select skillful and efficient experts. All employees are at least middle in seniority. Currently, we're interested in Data Scientists.

 

9. Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If not, on what minimum budget have you worked?

 

We don’t have the minimum budget requirement for a project to take in because it would mean we refuse to help people start something they find important.

 

10. You’ve been in this sphere for a long time. What is the one piece of advice you want entrepreneurs to take seriously?

 

Focus on the result. If you’re thinking about what’s more important – the outcome or process – believe me it’s the result. You know, there is only 1 result that you will find appropriate to your goal. There can’t be any other options. If you have a plan, you must achieve exactly what you craved. Yes, your actual achievements may exceed what you initially were targeting, but there is no way to lower the bar. Never.

 

Regarding getting closer to a goal you've set, there can be many options. What's the matter of how you achieved the goal if your actions never violated social norms and law? Say, one mathematical problem may be solved in 3 different ways. So, is it crucial which way you choose if the result is correct?
